Companies partner on emergency communications network

Wireless-mesh-technology-company Firetide announced its HotPort mesh network is being used as the wireless infrastructure of TracStar System’s Emergency Deployable, Wide-Area, Remote Data Systems (EDWARDS). The Florida Division of Emergency Management recently purchased nine EDWARDS units, which consist of a mobile satellite communications terminal, wireless mesh nodes and a portable microwave link.
