Positron lands E911 contract

Positron Public Safety Systems has been awarded a six-year contract from the Houston-Galveston Area Councilfor its Voice over IP for Emergency Response, or VIPER, system. The system is based on the use of the non-proprietary Session Initiation Protocol, or SIP, for the delivery of voice services. It includes the company’s Power 911, Power MAP, Power MIS, ePrinter, Positron Sentry, Centralized GIS and Regional MIS software that will support E911 services for the area’s 23 public safety answering points, according to the company.
