SDR Forum launches task group

The Software Defined Radio Forum announced the formation of a task group focused on transceiver subsystem interfaces. The task group will work to create open specifications that support the interface between the RF front end and baseband processing/modem subsystems in reconfigurable radio products. Its initial objective will be to expand on previous industry efforts to define standard transceiver application programming interfaces for use by radio equipment manufacturers in the commercial, public safety and defense domains, the SDR Forum said.
