TeleCommunication Systems lands multimillion DoD contract

TeleCommunication Systems has been awarded a three-year, $2.4 million contract to build an IP-based secure satellite network to support Department of Defense personnel deployed in Afghanistan. The network will provide voice, video and data services in remote areas that lack terrestrial service. It is expected to launch live and operational by mid-July, the company said.
