Open Mobile Alliance confirms industry standard for PoC

The Open Mobile Alliance has made available the OMA push-to-talk over cellular 1.0 Candidate Enabler, allowing the mobile industry to deliver new services across multiple carriers and geographic boundaries.

OMA PoC 1.0 is a two-way form of communication that allows mobile phone users to converse with numerous users, similar to a “walkie talkie” application, according to the company.

Testing for the interoperability of PoC 1.0 is currently underway.
