The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) tonight will present Motorola officials with its Distinguished Service Award for the company’s “exceptional and lasting contribution to the law-enforcement profession” during the past seven decades.

“From its inception in the 1920s to its network for the 21st century, Motorola has always worked hand-in-hand with law enforcement officers striving to protect public safety,” NLEOMF Chairman Craig Floyd said in a prepared statement. “And although this award comes from the Memorial Fund as a national organization, our support is undoubtedly echoed among the hundreds of state, local and federal agencies and officers we serve.”

NLEOMF will present the award to Motorola representative during the NLEOMF’s annual candlelight vigil, which will begin at 8 p.m. at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. A crowd of 20,000 law-enforcement officers, families and friends are expected to attend.
