SandCherry to add utility-focused application

Aug 26, 2005 5:18 PM

SandCherry Vice President Dale Hartzell said during this week’s APCO conference in Denver that the company plans to add an application designed for public utilities to its Voice 4 radio messaging system that will let senders know when a page is received.

“Typically, they can’t receive such a confirmation because most utilities are using one-way, text-based pagers,” Hartzell said.

SandCherry will be doing a beta test with a Southwest U.S. utility in a couple of months, Hartzell said. “It’s also a human-factor test,” he said. “Once you put something out in the field, people start tweaking it.”
