Jul 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Farmers Branch, Texas, selected Cisco Systems' outdoor wireless mesh product for citywide Wi-Fi access. The system, hosted and managed by Internet service provider MobilePro, will let the city provide Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g connectivity to academic, consumer and government users. Public-safety and public works employees also will use the network for meter reading, police communications and tracking city vehicles, according to Cisco.
