Tugboat company uses real-time wireless video to track fleet

Apr 1, 2006 12:00 PM, BY DOUG MOHNEY

Homeland Integrated Security Systems completed the installation of its Cyber Tracker technology for Rentrop Tugs, a tugboat company that operates along the 400-mile coastline of Louisiana. Cyber Tracker is a 5×1-inch thick battery-powered GPS device that uses Motorola technology as well as HISS's proprietary electronics and software. Together, these technologies allow Rentrop to transmit real-time video and data from each boat on its fleet, such as weather conditions and locations.
