Andrew upgrades signal scanner

Nov 19, 2009 11:51 AM, By Glenn Bischoff

Andrew Solutions announced that it has added new functionality to its i.Scan digital scanner that makes measuring GSM channels in a mixed-signal environment easier. Specifically, the company has added proprietary signal-processing techniques that more rapidly filter out wideband signals and analyze GSM channels in a mixed technology cellular environment. Consequently, network testers no longer will need to know the GSM channel sets in advance of testing since the device will sort the channels automatically, the company said. The result is faster scan rates than those that occur when traditional scanning receivers try to decode mixed RF signals. The device is capable of measuring and decoding GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, EV-DO, HSDPA and LTE technologies.
