BearCom makes portable tower, repeater available

Feb 1, 2006 10:54 AM, By Donny Jackson

Dallas-based BearCom Wireless Worldwide recently announced release and delivery of its QuickSite 1000 portable emergency radio tower and the QuickSite 750 portable radio repeater.

The QuickSite 1000 telescoping tower can reach a maximum height of 42 feet, and its 7-foot-wide trailer weighs less than 3500 pounds, so it can be pulled by a half-ton truck or airlifted by helicopter, BearCom project manager Mike Butler said. In addition, the tower can be deployed easily, he said.

“And, from the time the wheels stop on the trailer, it averages about five minutes to get it running,” Butler said.

The QuickSite 750 is BearCom’s first portable repeater offered in a “suitcase” package.
