Florida agency to deploy Motorola IP-based interop solution

Dec 16, 2004 6:21 PM

Motorola recently announced that it has received a contract from the Florida State Technology Office to deploy its Motobridge IP interoperability solution statewide. Part of the company’s Mission Critical IP portfolio, Motobridge IP enables first responders at a scene to communicate with each other regardless of whether they are on the same radio system.

The platform uses standard IP protocol, operates over both mission critical and commercial IP networks, offers distributed control points to eliminate single points of failure and can be expanded as needed, Motorola said, adding that the Motobridge IP softswitch improves upon typical gateway switches by providing advanced calling features such as emergency unit identification.
