Padcom, Nextel to co-market roaming software

Apr 15, 2005 12:56 PM

Padcom said it has reached a joint marketing agreement with Nextel to co-market Padcom's TotalRoam software. Nextel customers will be able to use TotalRoam to create optimized virtual private networks because the software enables seamless roaming between the carrier’s iDEN network and other networks including Wi-Fi, Padcom said.

In addition, TotalRoam has earned FIPS 140-2 validation, meaning that any communications between a company’s headquarters and remote users will meet federal encryption standards, Padcom said.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
