Maryland counties deploy Alvarion wireless broadband systems

Sep 24, 2004 12:00 PM

Alvarion announced that York, Pa.-based Business Information Group is installing a series of countywide wireless broadband systems in Maryland that will connect a plethora of public agencies in the state. The systems provide 100 Mb/s capacity to each connected county, Alvarion said, adding that its multipoint solution was attractive to public-safety agencies because it delivers high bandwidth over long ranges, around buildings and through trees. In addition, it incorporates AES encryption with no impact on throughputs.
