Report: Enterprise WLAN market dips

Feb 12, 2004 12:00 PM

The worldwide market for enterprise wireless local area network (WLAN) equipment and services declined by 8% in the fourth quarter 2003 compared to 20% sequential growth over the previous two quarters, according to a report published by research firm Dell’Oro Group. The firm predicted the decline would be temporary, with the enterprise WLAN sector reverting to growth mode in Q1 2004. The overall WLAN market, fueled by strong holiday sales, grew 10% sequentially in Q4 2003—to $509 million—and posted full-year revenues of $1.8 billion, a 16% increase over full-year 2002.
