Sony announces new mesh-enabled cameras

Sony announced that its IPELA SNC-RX550, CS50 and RZ50 are now compatible with mesh-enabled architecture from Motorola, MotoMesh, a move that lets the vendor service the technological standards of the Asian and European video markets.

N.Y. skyscraper owners update in-building communication systems

The Durst Organization installed a new communication system at its flagship building in Times Square, using Tait’s P25 TB9100 base station and repeaters to support first-responder communications during an emergency situation. The system will be deployed in all Durst buildings located in Manhattan by the end of the summer, according to Tait.

Companies partner to meet DSRC standards

Quatech, a developer of embedded 802.11 wireless OEM solutions, announced a joint effort with MTS Technologies to collaborate on wireless solutions that support Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) standards. The alliance will let the companies develop and test DSRC functionality as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Vehicle Infrastructure Integration initiative.
