Airbee Wireless this week introduced standards-based software for use in radio frequency identification applications. Specifically, the software allows warehouse sensors to read data in groups, rather than single barcodes or tags, as is the case now for RFID, the company said. In addition, the software will allow tags to significantly expand the amount of data stored, including where and when a product was made, its batch number, expiration dates and the intended customer, to help combat product piracy, the company said.
