Catalyst Communications announced during IWCE 2004 that it had added channel-specific patching to its IP Link network-based interoperability solution. The feature enables users on one radio system to communicate with users on a completely different radio system and focus their communications on specific radio channels or talk groups, the company said. Catalyst also demonstrated a “rapidly deployable” PC-based dispatch console for Raytheon JPS’s ACU-1000 Intelligent Interconnect System. The capability enables any PC user connected to a network to participate in radio communications that occur over the ACU-1000 backplane, regardless of distance, according to Catalyst.
