EFJohnson plans Netelligent upgrade
EFJohnson said during this week’s Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials conference in Montreal that it would launch the next version of its Netelligent Project 25-compatible, IP-based infrastructure systems by the end of 2004.
The next phase will incorporate more options for dispatch consoles, according to marketing director Kevin Nolan, who added that the company is gearing up for the launch at its Irving, Texas facility. “We’re going to go from about 40 employees to about 110 by the end of the year, and a lot of them are going to be engineers,” he said.
The company also announced a $550,000 order from the City of Fairbanks, Alaska, for P25 portable and mobile radios. With this deal, EFJohnson has received orders totaling $3 million from Alaskan state and local agencies this year, the company said.
