RELM unveils field command radio

RELM Wireless has introduced the GPH-CMD Command Radio, an enhanced portable built on the company’s BK Radio platform and designed for field command and coordination activities. The radio is capable of field communications over 500 channels, with 25 groups of 20 channels per group. The radio is designed for operation on the 136-174 MHz VHF frequency band and meets MIL-STD 810 C/D/E military specifications, the company said. The first customer for the radio is the California Department of Forestry, which placed a $700,000 order in January 2005.
