Kenwood Corporation said this week it and its Kenwood USA Communications Sector together are committed to providing $100,000 in cash and two-way radio equipment to support Hurricane Katrina relief and recovery efforts.

Two-way radios already have been distributed to evacuation centers, refugee shelters and relief organizations across the Gulf Coast, the company said. In addition, amateur radio equipment has been committed to the ARRL, formerly the American Radio Relay League, to be used by the American Red Cross and other emergency management agencies in the region.
