Midland Radio consolidates LMR products under one brand
Midland Radio yesterday announced plans to cease using the Maxon and Topaz3 brands, instead choosing to use the Midland brand for all its land mobile radio products sold in the U.S. as the company prepares to release a new line of LMR portable and mobile radios.
Midland officials expressed concern that maintaining multiple brands created unwanted confusion for customers and the company’s network of independent LMR dealers.
“This consolidation will allow us to focus and grow one brand name in the U.S., giving us a stronger position in the marketplace, providing more opportunity for growth and maximizing customer satisfaction,” Midland President Dan Devling said in a prepared statement.”
Midland’s product portfolio includes myriad portable radios, mobile radios, telemetry technologies and high-powered base stations. The firm’s new radio-over-IP solution is being deployed by several U.S. government agencies and commercial enterprises.
