Motorola

announced it has completed the first phase of a TETRA IP radio and data communications network deployment in Denmark. The Greater Copenhagen Transport Authority is the first organization to use the network, deploying it to the 1200 buses it operates; the network also will be deployed to subway trains operated by the agency. Motorola signed a six-year contract with the agency in 2003 to provide equipment, airtime and maintenance services; airtime is provided by TetraNet, in which Motorola Denmark owns a majority stake. The next phase of the deployment will target public-safety agencies, Motorola said.
