RELM Wireless recently announced its net income for the second quarter 2004 increased by about $300,000 year over year, to $400,000. However, the company’s sales for the quarter decreased by about 6% year over year, to $4.9 million from $5.2 million. The company attributed its earnings gain in part to improved cost control stemming from improved production efficiencies and reduced materials and labor costs. The quarter marked the fifth consecutive quarter in which RELM reported a profit, the company said.
