First SD card RFID reader for handhelds unveiled

TradeWind Technologies announced it has introduced an RFID reader that it says is the world’s first commercially available reader in the SD card form factor. The patent-pending card enables many handheld devices to read or write standard and proprietary RFID 13.56 MHz tags and labels, the company said. The reader fits into any standard SD/SDIO slot and offers a read range of 7 cm.
