Rochester expands citywide surveillance

Jun 22, 2010 6:21 PM

The city of Rochester, N.Y., has deployed Pivot3 Serverless Computing as part of its citywide surveillance system, which includes more than 100 cameras. The system, which uses six Pivot3 CloudBanks running Genetec Omnicast video management software, has helped reduced crime in hotbed areas by 80%.

Pivot3 designs storage for video surveillance applications where virtual servers are included with high-availability shared storage. This approach eliminates the need for separate physical servers, which reduces acquisition costs and operating costs by up to 40%.
