Metawave Comunications, Redmond, Wash., has reduced its staffing by 36 employees, about 30 percent, and has replaced its chief executive.
Gary Flood was appointed chief executive, replacing Bob Hunsberger in that role, but Hunsberger retains the title as chairman and continues as what the company called a “strategic consultant.”
Flood previously was the company’s chief marketing officer and vice president of business development. He joined Metawave in September 2000, following its acquisition of Adaptive Telecom.
Flood was Adaptive Telecom’s vice president of business development.
“In view of this significant restructuring and the current market environment, we felt it appropriate to reduce the size of our senior management team,” Flood said.
