San Diego-based Wireless Facilities announced that it has entered into an agreement with “one of the top six national wireless carriers” to bring as many as 3000 of the carrier’s wireless sites nationwide into compliance with the Federal Communications Commission’s Phase II E911 regulations. Phase II requires wireless carriers and public safety answering points to identify the location of calls originating in their areas, within 50-100 meters. Wireless Facilities did not identify the carrier.
