Description:

Public Safety Spectrum Trust (PSST) Chairman Harlin McEwen talks with Urgent Communications Senior Writer Donny Jackson about PSST recommendations to the FCC regarding the minimum requirements for a proposed 700 MHz wireless broadband network for public safety. McEwen addresses the influence of the National Public Safety Telecommunication Council (NPSTC) broadband task force on the recommendations, as well as what the PSST hopes to learn if the FCC grants waivers allowing certain public-safety agencies to begin building broadband networks on the spectrum early.

With representation from 15 public-safety and governmental organizations, the PSST is the licensee of public safety's 10 MHz of broadband spectrum in the 700 MHz band.
