NPSTC sets 700 MHz comment-period deadline

Oct 30, 2007 3:00 PM, - MRT

The National Public Safety Telecommunications Council’s Broadband Working Group announced that it must develop the statement of requirements (SoR) for the planned 700 MHz wireless broadband network for public safety by Nov. 7. Consequently, input regarding the SoR must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. PDT on Nov. 2., to allow potential bidders to prepare for the D Block spectrum auction, which is scheduled to begin Jan. 24. Ten megahertz of D Block spectrum will be paired with 10 MHz of public safety spectrum in the band to create the foundation for the new nationwide network. More information regarding the SoR is available at www.npstc.org.
