ARRL schedules FieldDay '05 event in Texas

Mar 1, 2005 12:00 PM

The Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) will partner with Rusk State Park on June 25 to 26 to sponsor FieldDay ‘05, an event the ARRL has organized since 1933. The event is held each year to give amateur radio operators the opportunity to practice their communications and emergency preparedness skills, according to event coordinator Lisa McClellan (KB5NEB).

“This is done by setting up radios and antennas in a place not normally used for radio, utilizing generators and battery power and then establishing communications with as many other stations throughout the U.S and Canada as they can,” McClellan said in a statement.
