FCC to consider new bureau, 700 MHz rules

The FCC will consider two items affecting public-safety communications during its regular meeting today.

During the meeting, the commission is expected to vote to approve the establishment of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau. In addition, the FCC is scheduled to consider a notice of proposed rulemaking regarding public-safety needs in the 700 MHz band.
