FCC wireless bureau chief resigns

John Muleta, chief of the wireless telecommunications bureau at the FCC, will leave the commission at the end of March, according to an FCC announcement released this morning.
FCC chairman Michael Powell, who previously announced his plans to leave the FCC on the same day as Muleta, noted Muleta’s contributions to the FCC as a manager and as a lawyer during his two-year tenure as wireless bureau chief.
“John has been a faithful and tireless public servant, and he is leaving behind a strong and commendable legacy in the wireless field that will have long and enduring impact on global communications,” Powell said in a prepared statement.
