Nokia has been accused by archrival Ericsson of developing push-to-talk handsets that won’t work with network software developed by rival handset providers, the Wall Street Journal has reported. The paper said Nokia, Ericsson, Telefon AB and Motorola had agreed last fall to develop a common P2T technical standard. Ericsson claimed that the inability to connect to customers on a different network would retard the growth of the p2T market, the Journal reported. According to the Journal, Nokia declined to comment on the matter but said its network software would support its rivals’ software later this year.
