Symbol, Proxim settle patent dispute

Symbol Technologies announced this week it has reached an agreement with Proxim Corp. to settle a patent infringement lawsuit. The settlement calls for Proxim to pay Symbol $22.75 million for previous sales of products that infringed on Symbol’s wireless LAN technologies. Proxim also will pay a royalty fee for future sales of products covered by Symbol patents. Payments are scheduled to begin Sept. 30, Symbol said.
