Nissan invests in RFID

WhereNet Corp. announced that Nissan North America is deploying its standards-based WhereNet active RFID, real-time locating system technology to automate its inbound supply chain and outbound delivery chain. Nissan will leverage a single wireless architecture to run multiple WhereNet applications, including WhereSoft yard-management and vehicle-tracking and management systems. Nissan's Canton, Miss., assembly plant has the capacity to produce 400,000 vehicles per year.
