Firm reports RFID in healthcare will be a billion-dollar market

Analyst firm Research and Markets reported that RFID in the U.S. hospital-system marketplace will be worth approximately $8.8 billion by 2010, according to its “RFID & Emerging Technologies: Guide to Healthcare” report. Hardware and software integration will be worth $1.3 billion; wireless networks $1.3 billion; enterprise-related software $1.4 billion; and hospital connectivity $4.8 billion.
