Transportation authority invests in RFID

Toronto, Canada-based Sirit announced that the Orange County (Calif.) Transportation Authority awarded a $2 million contract for the company’s UHF radio frequency identification, or RFID, chips. The contract spans three years, with deliveries expected in Q2 2007, according to the company.
