Radio frequency identification technology vendor Intermec has contracted with the federal government to provide RFID technical engineering services to the Department of Defense and the U.S. Coast Guard. Earlier this year Intermec won a contract to provide RFID tags and readers to the federal government as part of an initiative to improve asset monitoring and management.
In addition, Intermec has a five-year contract administered the U.S. Army to provide automatic identification technologies--including advanced mobile computing, wireless communications and data-collection systems--to all federal agencies and DOD branches worldwide.
