Matrics' RFID system selected for Hong Kong airport

Radio frequency identification system developer Matrics, Inc. announced that the Airport Authority Hong Kong would deploy the company’s RFID readers across the airport’s baggage handling facilities. The project is the largest single RFID deployment in Asia, according to Matrics. Reader systems will be installed to read and write to RFID tags that will be applied on passenger bags. RFID-enabled handheld readers will also be used for mobile baggage operations. The deal is valued at $3.5 million (USD), Matrics said. Read the news release.
