Zebra Technologies expands ‘smart’ label capabilities

Zebra Technologies has added converting equipment for producing so-called smart labels—produced by embedding a radio frequency identification chip and antenna—to its Greenville, Wis., facility.

The company also announced it has qualified as a supplier of EPC 1 RFID labels to Alien Technology, which produces RFID solutions for the government, enterprise, retail, manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors.
