May 27, 2005 12:26 PM

Automated testing solutions provider Aeroflex this week announced it has completed the purchase of UbiNetics’ test and measurement division (SPG) for about $81 million.

Headquartered in Melbourn, England, SPG provides test and measurement solutions for commercial wireless operators’ infrastructure and handsets. Aeroflex’s existing solution targets the aerospace, defense and broadband markets.

“The UbiNetics name is recognized worldwide as a leading provider of wireless testing solutions, which has garnered them a market leadership position and a top-tier customer base,” Aeroflex Vice Chairman and COO Len Borrow said. “We believe there is a significant synergy between SPG and Aeroflex’s Test Solutions division, which is expected to lead to important opportunities for future product developments.”
