Motorola chooses Motia antenna for Wi-Fi products
Motorola’s Broadband Communications sector today announced it would incorporate into future wireless broadband products the Javelin 802.11 smart antenna manufactured by Motia. According to Motorola, Motia’s standards-compliant adaptive beam-forming technology extends the range of Wi-Fi networks by up to four times.
In other news, Motorola’s Commercial, Government and Industrial Solutions sector announced this week that its two-way MTH650 radio, which is based on the TETRA (terrestrial trunked radio) standard, has been validated for operation on Belgium’s ASTRID nationwide radio network. This network—ASTRID stands for All-round, Semi-circular Trunking Radio communications system with Integrated Dispatchings—operates in the 380-400 MHz band, which has been reserved for emergency and security services within Europe.
