Honeywell Building Solutions announced it has contracted with Wayne County Public Schools, one of the largest school systems in southeastern North Carolina, to provide its Honeywell Instant Alert for Schools system. An automated notification and communication service, Honeywell Instant Alert will enable the district to instantly deliver both emergency and non-emergency messages to parents and guardians of approximately 19,000 K-12 students via phone, cell, pager, e-mail or PDA, the company said. The service will be fully installed by July, enabling the district to begin using the service to communicate with parents prior to the 2004-2005 school year, according to Honeywell.
