EWA unveils new CEVO mobile app to identify available spectrum
In addition to being a free download, CEVO is not limited to EWA members—it is available to anyone, Crosby said. The potential impact of CEVO on the industry could be significant, particularly in terms of accelerating the sales and licensing cycles, he said.
“I don’t care who it is—Icom, Kenwood, Motorola, Harris, PowerTrunk, whoever—but imagine having a salesperson sitting in front of a customer negotiating a sale … and the salesperson says, ‘We need to make sure you have channels for this,” Crosby said.
“Today, the customer goes, ‘Well, how do you do that?’ You’ve got to fill out a form and do this and that. How bad is that, when you really think about it? We’ve got to arm these salesmen with a little tool. They can call up the EWA icon on their devices, and they go boom, and it says, ‘Frequency availability summary.’”
Crosby also indicated that EWA has more plans for this arena in the future.
“We’re very proud of this. We just want to make it easy,” he said. “I love the app, and it’s just the start.”
EWA will showcase the CEVO mobile app this week in Booth 8096 of the IWCE 2014 exhibit hall.
