Motorola Solution to buy Spillman Technologies
“We pick up the 911 call as it comes in. Integration into Emergency CallWorks allows us to integrate directly into the 911 call-handling system, so it provides seamless integration to our public-safety users,” Clark said.
“It gives operators, especially dispatchers, the ability to have seamless integration with both products, so they can handle a call from the moment it comes into a facility all the way through the call-handling process. We’re very excited about this opportunity.”
Purchasing Spillman Technologies is part of its Motorola Solutions’ strategy “to expand its software portfolio and advance mission-critical intelligence with a fully integrated command center offering that connects public safety customers to real-time data and insights like never before,” according to a company press release.
Bruce Brda, Motorola Solutions’ executive vice president for products and services, echoed this sentiment.
“The Spillman acquisition demonstrates our commitment to expand our smart public safety portfolio and provide agencies of all sizes with a full suite of solutions for the command center, from call processing equipment to CAD to RMS to land mobile radio and LTE dispatching,” Brda said in a prepared statement.
“Spillman has a rich history of providing reliable, comprehensive public safety software and professional services that will expand Motorola Solutions’ software capabilities and complement our command center offerings to meet the needs of a broader customer base.”
