Philip Adler, who owns a Philadelphia land mobile radio business, PCS Communications, has resigned from the Datamarine International board of directors. He had served on the board since May 2001. At that time, he reported owning 130,500 shares of stock in the Mountlake Terrace, WA-based manufacturer of marine radio communications and navigation equipment and land mobile radio equipment.

In a prepared statement, Datamarine President David Thompson said: “Mr. Adler, based on his mobile communications experience, provided valuable insight and direction to various board decisions.”

Also in a prepared statement, Adler said: “With Datamarine moving toward transactions with SMR Advisory and Biz Comm, the company should now be able to return to its marine roots. With that in mind, I am now comfortable in leaving the board. I will therefore be able to focus on the day-to-day operation of my own land mobile business, which is by itself a full-time responsibility. It has been a pleasure to have been of some help in these difficult times, and I am sure, given the talent that exists at Datamarine, the company will return to the prominence that it once previously enjoyed.”

Yesterday, Datamarine’s stock closed at 16 cents per share, up from its 52-week low of 10 cents per share and down substantially from its 52-week high of $1.95. The company has been seeking an equity investment or new financing.
