From WISN TV: The Milwaukee Fire Department made the changeover to Harris's OpenSky digital radios this week in response to a federal mandate.

The OpenSky system uses 72 repeating transmitters on fire trucks and command vehicles to strengthen radio signals for firefighters inside buildings.

The department had concerns over the radios after the Milwaukee Police Department had problems with the system. Read the entire article here.
