The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International (APCO) announced that Catherine Seidel, deputy bureau chief of the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, would participate in the Wireless Enhanced 911 Post Deployment Symposium. The event, sponsored by APCO’s Project Locate–which was created to promote accelerated deployment of Phase II wireless E911—is scheduled to be held May 21 at the Adam’s Mark hotel in Denver. The symposium is designed to educate public-safety answering point managers and policy makers on the most effective ways to achieve successful deployments. Currently, less than 20% of PSAPs nationwide are Phase II compliant, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
