California Amplifier announced a licensing agreement that calls for California Amplifier to supply software drivers that enable Linux-based user devices and access points to use Atheros Communication’s 802.11a/b/g chipsets. The software drivers control the user device and access point hardware to enable wireless data transfer, and work in conjunction with embedded processors such as Intel’s IXP-425 MIPS, X86 and Power PC for Linux. The licensing agreement extends an alliance created in 2002, when California Amplifier’s Solutions Division was designated an Atheros design center and technology license reseller.
